Volume in the markets remains sluggish despite the number of earnings reports, in part because of the Passover and Easter holidays. Volume on the consolidated tape of the New York Stock Exchange was 3.7 billion shares, while 843 million shares changed hands on the NYSE floor. Gold futures hit a intraday high of $1,500 an ounce before closing up 0.15 percent at $1,494.50.
On the U.S. economic front, housing starts in March rose 7.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 549,000 units, while building permits for the month rose 11.2 percent, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.
In Europe, Swiss drugmaker Novartis reported first-quarter earnings above analyst forecasts. The stock was 3.3 percent higher in mid-morning trading. European shares closed higher, helped by positive earnings.

Pay attention between 17 and 22 Apr 11. There will be many short-term reversal trends in many active stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). However, between late-Apr 11 and early-May 11, several planets that rule finance, industry and consumer will meet with the malefic planets (Uranus, Saturn and Mars). What is the impact? A SELL signal is more likely to appear than a BUY. Short-term traders are safe to trade while maintaining their risk profiles unchanged, while mid- to long-term investors are advised to wait for the pullback before BUYing.
What to Buy?
• UNTR IJ. The complex correction pattern is unfolding (see chart). This
stock will likely retrace to Rp20,900-21,300 which is a fair price to BUY
(short-term trading), and then is expected to see a 2% risk with 5% gain.
The risk to reward ratio will be 2.5x.
• CMNP IJ. This stock is moving inside the potential wave 4 that could be a
sideways movement. Based on the wave analysis theory, the next target
will be Rp980-1,000. However, just in case another scenario happens to
invalidate the downtrend view, watch the “uptrend confirmation line” in the
chart on the next page. When the price rises above it, the trend will be
bullish again.
• ANTM IJ. The good news comes from ANTM. The fans of ANTM could be
ready to BUY this stock at Rp2,250 at 50.0-61.8% of the Fibonacci
retracement with 3% stop loss and expect to sell it at Rp2,400. The risk toreward ratio is 2x.
• TBIG IJ. The short consolidation since 7 Apr 11 signals a bullish continuation. If you have no position on this stock, BUY at Rp2,375-2,425 with stop loss at Rp2,300. The short-term target is Rp2,600.
• INCO IJ. The ascending triangle on the weekly chart could bring this stock to above Rp5,000. We then prepare to BUY at Rp4,750-4,800 or when it break the latest minor peak at Rp4,900. Stop loss of 3% with initial target price at Rp5,200.

JAKARTA: PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, produsen suku cadang otomotif dari Grup Astra, berencana melakukan pemecahan nilai nominal saham atau stock split dengan rasio 1:5 guna membuat saham perseroan menjadi likuid.
